First Day of Fall

Yesterday was the first day of Fall. There was a lot of stormy weather in the area, but it seem to mostly skirt around us. We did get quite a bit of rain, but that is all we got compared to some areas.
We talked with Brett and April during the morning and got to hear Caden say hi as he "talked" on his play phone. April says he puts the phone on his shoulder and leans his head over to "talk" into it. I can hardly wait to get a web cam for our computer and get the sound fixed so we can "see" them as we talk to them. I miss them a lot!!!
Allen will be coming to stay a few nights with us while he does some recruiting for Pepperdine University in this area. We are really looking forward to seeing him and wish that Sarah could come too, but this is getting into her busy time of year as she is trying to finalize all the group insurance deals she has been working on before the end of the year. Good luck Sarah!!!
I am hoping to get my fall decor put out before this day is over. I guess I better stop so I can get it done and do my reading for my Tue. nite class.
OK Tammie, I've updated my blog. =-)
Happy Fall everyone, enjoy this beautiful time of God's creation!! <><

First Grandparent's Day

It is such fun being a grandparent! Caden sent this to us today. The only thing that would have made it better, would be to have personally spent the day with Caden. This is the next best thing!! We love you Caden!

Hearing from Family

The last few days we have heard from Allen and Sarah, Max and Cindy, Mother and Daddy, and Brett and April. Praise the Lord all are well.
Allen told us about his raise, which was wxciting, the Admissions Retreat type meeting he organized, his trip to visit his mother-in-law, and helping One By One with some recruitment techniques while on tour. He has some exciting plans for the future and we hope it will involve a move back to the south, at some point. We are hoping to get to see Allen in Oct., and Sarah at Thanksgiving, if all goes well.
Thursday night I talked with Max as it was his 48th? birthday. I had a great visit with Cindy, too. Happy Birthday Max
Daddy and Mother called on Labor Day to check on us. They are doing well and were asking about all the kids. I shared all I knew with them.
Latter that afternoon, April and Brett called from France. It was good to hear from them and to learn that Caden now has his days and nights straightened out and had a good first day in "the nursery" as his mom and dad took placement test for their languages classes. Caden stood by himself for about 3 seconds for the first time this week. I think he will be walking before they know it. =-)
Hearing from family is such a blessing and fills my day with joy!!!
